as we,ll be stopping at dubai on route anyone know the costs of a beer at the airport pubs and cost of fags in duty free shops

The pubs at Dubai Airport are extremely expensive. It might be cheaper to pay for access to a lounge.

I paid AED 48 (GBP 9.30) for a carton cigarettes in January. You can%26#39;t legally bring duty free tobacco products into Sri Lanka. The fine is LKR 6000 per carton if you get caught (but the chance is close to zero). Cigarettes in Sri Lanka cost LKR 300-340 (GBP 2) for 20.

I found it quite hard to get Marlboro Lights in SL and ended up paying 400rs.

Local Dunhill Lights were good though, 260rs in Cargills.

It might be wise to stock up in Dubai for fags and take the very very small risk of being stopped!

there,s 4 of us going to sri lanka but only one smoker so think we,ll buy 200 at dubai airport on way in and put just 50 fags in each bag lol,as one carton will last the 2 week holiday.then on way home will get fags for return to england.not worth the lounge as only at airport a couple of hours and someone said 30 min walk each way.
