Where to stay in Kandy?

Hi, we have a couple of nights in Kandy in April. We are looking for somewhere close(ish) to the centre - somewhere where can walk in.

I am looking at: Freedom Lodge G/H, Kandy Cottage, Suisse Hotel and Swiss Residence - all are similar in price.

Which one would you recommend and why?

Why not take Queens Hotel into your considerations? It%26#39;s right in the city centre and a similar price the ones you have already.

Where to stay in Kandy?

We always stay at the Queens Hotel when we stop over in Kandy.

It%26#39;s right next door to the Temple of the Tooth, we usually get up erly, visit the temple before it gets too busy and then go back to the hotel for breakfast.

It%26#39;s a quaint hotel, best described as %26#39;faded elegance%26#39; unless it%26#39;s been refurbished since we last went, but we love it.

I LOVE the Queens Hotel, but for a real treat, make sure you get to Helga%26#39;s Folly for a meal. It is an amazing place and beyond description.

I%26#39;m not a fan of Queens, only one floor renovated last time we visited (for tea) and to reach that you still need to walk through the worn-out parts.

Helga%26#39;s Folly is lovely indeed but overpriced for staying. Swiss Residence actually is better than Suisse (itself better than Queens) and Queens but in a suburb so always tuktuk needed.
