I will be staying at the Beach hotel in April, does anyone know what the fishing trips are like and what do you expect to catch and what is the price.

You might catch Marlin, Sail Fish, Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevallie, Bonito, Dorado, Queen Fish, Barracuda and Tuna. These are at least the species that are in the waters around Sri Lanka.

Stroll around the fishing harbour in Negombo and make friends with a couple of fishermen there. You might go for free or just a small amount of money.

Touristy, organised trips are expensive. I have prices up to LKR 15000 mentioned.

If you coming to Negombo, There are two types of fishing trips. they are normal fishing boats and Tolar boats. Both have different pricers. but for deep fishing you should go on a tolar boat. it cost between LKR 15000-20000 for 1 or 4 people. if you like, you can do Lagoon, Catarmaron, Canal Trips also.
