Has the monsoon started early? Just checked underground and BBC world weather other than Wednesday it looks like rain, rain , rain. Going to Club Dolphin 30th March looking for some sunshine. Fingers crossed...

I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s the inter monsoon season that has started already, but there is a disturbance in the atmosphere south east of Sri Lanka that has caused late afternoon thundershowers the last couple of days.

By now the sky is dark with clouds. Its already raining in the evenings. Some times sunshine also. but by the time you come to sri lanka, it will rain a lot.

Hmmm, would tend to ';disagree'; a little with last reply, i was there in Sri Lanka last year from end of March to end of April, and will be again this year, and it did NOT tend to rain a lot, sure there will be some late afternoon and evening rain, but nothing much to spoil your holidays.

Todays, and recent days rains are NOT usual, but could be something to do with weather upsets all round the world these days?

I do hope it is not a wash out or we will be very disappointed. We asked the travel agent to send us somewhere with wall to wall sunshine ! will keep checking underground weather who i have found to be very acurate.

I understand your concerns. I always book tropical holidays in times when are expected to have good weather and then I look on website such as underground and BBC weather and fret like mad!!

I must admit most of the time once you get out there it isnt as bad as portrayed in the forecasts.

I thought the weather turned end og april but maybe its earlt this year or one of those odd spells?

Anyways heres hoping we have a fabulous time. I am certainly counting down to april 4th!!
