Colombo Fort Station to Mount Lavinia

Hello,

I am hopeing that someone can help me with some informtion:

My plan is to travel from Kandy to Mount Lavinia staying at Hotel Mount Lavinia.

I am planing to take the AM express train from Kandy to Colombo Fort station. I thought I would just catch a train from Colombo Fort to Mount Lavinia since the station at Mount Lavinia is beside the hotel.

How often do the trains from from Fort to Mount Lavinia run?

Does this sound like a good idea or would I be better off just to take a taxi from Fort to ML?

During office hours you get trains from fort to mount lavinia in every10-15 mins. But after that its not that often. So depending your arrival time to fort station it will vary. Best thing is after you come to the fort station check whether there is a train if not you can take a bus to Mount Lavinia just in front of the station.
