Full Moon

Is it true that when it is a full moon in Sri Lanka alcohol is not served in the hotels. We will be staying in the Neptune in July when there will be a full moon. Would the hotel mind if you drank your own alcohol from the shop? I would not want to offend anyone.

Yes, that%26#39;s the law in Sri Lanka. The hotel could loose it%26#39;s liquor license.

Nobody will be offended if you drink your own alcohol in your room, but don%26#39;t do it in public places in the hotel.

The off licenses will also be closed on Poya Days, so you will have stock up the day before.

Yep, as Hans has said, either stock up day before for consumption in your room, or order via room service, although this may not be included in your board package.

Full Moon (Poya Day) in July is on Monday 6th...
