Club Palm Bay, Marawila

Having never been to Sri Lanka before, we are hoping to stay in Club Palm Bay in June of this year. Can anyone please give me some advice about what the weather will be like at this time of year, hotel etc? If we come out of the hotel will there be any bars/restaurants close by? How long (approximately) will it take to do trips ie. elephant orphanage from where we are staying? Sorry to be vague, but as this will be our first time, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Linda,

June is in the inter monsoon season which means that the weather is usually quite unsettled with quite a few hefty thundershowers, but also a good chance for some sunshine.

There is not much life (bars/restaurants) outside the hotels in Marawila. Closest place with a reasonable assortment is in Negombo, 20-25 km away.

Trips to the inland is best done as overnight trips. It is possible to go to Elephant Orphanage in one day (minimum 6 hours driving), I recommend that you combine with minimum Kandy and make an overnight stay in Kandy.

Hi Linda

The hotel is good. but there are no much places to enjoy. If you want to enjoy. i recommend Negombo. If you are doing any tour, you can start any tour from your hotel. [1 to 8 days]
