Sri Lanka via Doha

We%26#39;re flying from Manchester to Sri Lanka via Doha with Qatar - we don%26#39;t have long in Doha (1 hr 20 going and 2 hrs 15 coming back)

Does anyone know if we%26#39;ll be changing planes? What will happen to our baggage - will we have to collect it and sit with it?

I%26#39;ve seen some forum posts saying the airport was under construction - has this finished now and will there be room to sit (provided we get through customs with some time to spare!)

Does anyone know if there%26#39;s a smoking area in Doha airport?

Sri Lanka via Doha

Hi there,

1) Change planes. Usually an A330 from Manchester and then a much smaller A320 upto Doha.

2) Will be transferred automatically. Never had troubles with it even with a transfer time of 40 mins.

3) Well it%26#39;s not THIS airport under construction, they%26#39;re in the good modern-fashioned Gulf style building a completely new one some km%26#39;s away. So no construction hassles.

4) Yes, I saw at least one smokers den last time.

All the best,

Cheers for that Erik

Is it easy to find your way around? I usually follow people like a lost sheep but don%26#39;t want to do that in case i follow someone who isn%26#39;t boarding the Sri Lanka plane but stopping in Doha!!

Yes, it is. Airport is about half the size of Manchester so if you can manage THAT you%26#39;ll survive in the desert too. No airbridges, all bus shuttling so the terminal is quite compact.

Have Doha fun,
