The long holiday 'weekend'

What effect is it likely to have on those of us touring Sri Lanka?

We%26#39;re going to be touring for a week from the 6th - cultural triangle and then the hill country (Nuwara Eliya and Ella) before heading to Mirissa for another week or so.

Are places likely to be crowded? Shops/internet places shut? Tea gardens/factories closed?
