Does the Bluewater Hotel Wadduwa have hairdryers?

Has anyone been half-board and if so are there cheaper places to eat lunch?

Hi Jennifer,

Can only comment on the 2nd question. There are no real serious touristy restaurants at walking distance, only some local %26#39;shops%26#39; in town. That having sayd, with the sumptuous buffets in Blue Water and any other tourist hotel in Lanka and the heat I never really feel a strong need for a big lunch - some shopping in supermarkets generally is enough. The town has a few of those, including the more Western-style AC markets like Food City.

Hi there

We stayed at the Blue Water a few years ago and have just booked up today to go back in September, they didn%26#39;t have a hair dryer in the room but i asked reception and one was brought up immediately. You will love it, we were all inclusive and are going back for that but as the other poster has said the food is amazing and we really didn%26#39;t eat a great deal at lunch apart from a snack but we did drink a fair bit and so all inclusive is a better bet. We go with Mercury Direct, you can look on the internet or phone 0844 482 6383, they don%26#39;t show the hotel on the internet but you can book it through them. We have flown Qatar and Sri Lankan to Sri Lanka before (have been 6 times now) but this time we are going with Kingfisher Arilines so i hope they are Ok.

We have just returned from Blue Water and, yes, there is a hairdryer fixed to the wall in the bathroom. Depending on how long it takes to dry your hair you may prefer to take your own though because there is no air-con in the bathroom and it gets really hot with the hairdryer on - particularly after a shower ! I wished that I had taken my own and would have used it in the bedroom area where it was lovely and cool ! I used my straighteners in the bedroom as there was a big dressing table/desk with a huge mirror above and plug sockets underneath. Hope that helps !
