Rough Sea ??? All Inc better ?? please help

Hello Experts

One phone away call from booking Kuoni Sri Lanka Panorama Tour for Feb 2010.

Want to stay on for R%26amp;R for a few days. Have been reading all the posts/reviews on hotels on the coast at Bentota.

Do you think it best to do the ';all inc'; option,really for the drinks,as you all seem to be saying it is expensive.Is there a good hotel that does this option ? Don%26#39;t want to pay arm AND leg for my G%26amp;T !! Eden Spa and Bentota Beach seem to have good write ups.Your views please.

Also I have read that the sea is rough and can be a problem for swimming.Husband will only go into the water waist high if it is really calm.It would spoil his holiday if this is the case.I know there are pools...but the chlorine/cleaner makes his eyes red and sore,so can%26#39;t use them.

For the beach I prefer Bentota Beach over Eden Spa. Bentota River is going into the Indian Ocean just outside Eden Spa. The sea is usually not rough from December to April. There is a slight surf, but currents can sometimes be strong. Going in waist high (what I do) is no problem.

Till mid of April sea bath is safe in this area. I don%26#39;t think its going to be an issue.

All inclusive is not a good option because Bentota has lots of options for dining etc. Lots of restaurants around so you can have a try.

We have been several times and do go all-inc as the price has always been OK. We still go out though for dinner and drinks. At the moment the exchange is not so good either so I would go all-inc as there is very little difrence in price. Bentota beach is nice and not too rough when you go but you might get the odd day.

Whether AI or not depends on your daily intake of G%26amp;Ts.

I know that in Eden Spa a Lion Lager (630 ml) is LKR 500 (GBP 3). I assume a G%26amp;T (50 ml local Gin) is about the same. Prices at Bentota Beach are slightly less.

Meals at outside restaurants will cost you LKR 700-900 for lunch and LKR 1000-1500 for dinner. Both per person including local drinks.

So,Bentota Beach Hotel looks like the one and Husband is happy that he will be able to go into the sea.

The Maldives looks nice too.Aghhhhhhhh.Too many to select from!!!
