We are staying in Kandy for a few days later this week and are considering a possible day trip to Sigiriya %26amp; Dambulla. I understand this is possible (by car) and it would be best to visit Sigiriya first so that we could start climbing as early as possible before it gets too hot. Is this the case in February and could someone please advise how long we could expect to be in the car from Kandy - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, John

Yes rightly summarised, climate effects there are same year-round! Count on about 2.5-3 hours to reach Sigiriya, same back. Dambulla temple is right on the main road, about 30 mins from Sigiriya and hence 2 hours from Kandy!
