Tours from Kalutara or Galle

We are visiting Sri Lanka for two weeks in April-May staying either in the Mermaid, near Kalutara or Lighthouse, outside Galle. We would like to take some trips around and see wildlife eg Uda Walawe, Sinharaja and Bundala national parks, and also the elephant sanctuary and some mountain scenery like Ella or Nuwara Eliya. Will all this be possible while based in one place with some overnight trips? Would it be better to stay near Galle or Kalutara to visit these places?

Hi,

Galle is about 1 hour closer to Uda Walawe, Sinharaja and Bundala while Kalutara is 1 hour closer to Elephant Orphanage, Nuwara Eliya and Ella.

Tours from Kalutara or Galle

Hi,

Bundala National Park you can do with Yala. This is high time to see leopards in Yala. One night stay there will do the job. If you are a real wildlife enthusiast you can do camping in Bundala national park too.

Thank you very much for your advice!

So, are there likely to be people at Galle who can sort us out with tours?

The hotel comments for Kalutara often refer to people they found for tours but the comments about the Lighthouse near Galle don%26#39;t.

There will most likely be drivers/guides/beach boys hanging around Lighthouse too.

I have not experienced a tourist spot in Sri Lanka where they were not available.

Hi,

If you choose to visit Yala and Bundala try to organize with some professionals to get the best experience.

Thanks very much for the advice.
