suresh tours

Hi,

It will be a tight schedule and at least 2 very long days if you want to do the tour in 4 days. I would spend at least 5 days or even better 6 days for this tour. An extra night in Ella and/or Mirissa/Unawatuna.

Day 1: Elephant Orphanage and Dambulla. About 175 km drive (5 hours drive).

Day 2: Sigiriya and Kandy. About 110 km (3 hours drive).

Day 3: Kandy to Tissamaharama. About 225 km (7 hours drive).

Day 4: Back to Negombo. About 300 km drive (8 hours drive).

Transport: LKR 28000-29000 for the van.

Accommodation with half board: Guesthouse LKR 2500-3000/double room per night. Mid range hotel LKR 5500-7000/double room per night. Star class hotel LKR 9000 up/double room per night.

Entrance:

Elephant Orphanage LKR 1250/pp

Dambulla Cave Temple USD 11 (LKR 1300)/pp

Sigiriya USD 25 (LKR 2800)/pp

Tooth Temple LKR 500/pp

Kandy Dance LKR 400/pp

Botanical Garden LKR 600/pp

Yala USD 14/pp + jeep LKR 5000-6000

thanks so much for a detail report but don,t fancy sitting in a car for so many hours.may have to rethink options to cut travel down any ideas

Yala is very far from Negombo and before I would even think of going there I would check with my travel insurance whether they will cover visits to Yala or not due to UK FCO travel warnings.

You could combine your visit to Dambulla and Sigiriya with Minneriya National Park (between Habarana and Polonnaruwa). Minneriya does not have leopards but plenty of elephants.

thanks i think i,ll do the above trip minus yala what would my travel times be like then

Hi,

I have been to Sri Lanka many times over the past 10 years and I have been on tours with several tour guides. Suresh from sureshtours is by far the most experienced and friendly guide that I have met. His English is perfect and you will always feel safe when he is driving you through the chaos of srilankan road users.

I don%26#39;t know anybody who wasn%26#39;t happy with the service that Suresh provides and I%26#39;m certain that you will enjoy your time with him.

You will be able to see the things you mentioned in 4 days, but remember that, although the distances are not that great, the average speed on the roads is low, so you will spend some time on the roads.

Personally I drive a motorbike in Sri Lanka and Suresh comes with me on the longer trips. It is a lot faster and also a lot of fun. If this is something you like, Suresh will be able to arrange it for you as well.

Whatever you decide, I hope you will enjoy your stay!

Erik

I used this chap in the past. He is based in Negombo. I found him very honest, helpful and spoke perfect English. Would recommend him highly.

See my other comments on general forum...

Sorry to thread butt but whats the best way to contact suresh tours? I emailed earlier this week and have had no reply as yet.

Have patience or find another company.

Sri Lankans in general are not that quick to reply to emails. One man companies in particular. He might be on a tour, and will most likely reply to you when he gets back.
