Hi I am going to Beruwela in April. Rod had suggested I stay overnight in Hikkaduwa to snorkel. does anyone know of any reasonably priced guesthouse/hotels that will not charge the earth for a single room, also will New Year be a problem I will be staying from the 10th- 18th?

Guesthouse in Hikkaduwa ... we stayed at Moon Beam at Narigama which was really nice and had a great restaurant too, but a much cheaper option (and the room was fantastic .. right on the beach too) was Suthani Guest House where a mate of mine stayed. It%26#39;s also at Narigama just south of Moon Beam .. He paid 1300 rupees for a double en suite room in January.
Not sure about availability during New Year, but there%26#39;s so much choice at Hikkaduwa, you%26#39;ll easily find something to suit ...
