kingfisher airlines

has anybody used kingfisher for flights to sri lanka. I have booked two weeks as part of a holiday package with fist choice. but now friends would like to come for 8 days and happy to arrange own flights and accommodation - who is the best operator to do this with. First choice only fly on a tuesday and the wedding at the hotel is a wednesday.

If you check them out here, youll see they are one of the few 5 star airlines! Reviews are positive too.

Have never flown with them, but we will do at Easter...

Hi Ginger,

Indeed not much experiences on this route yet but a few more have promised to report back when done. See e.g.

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293961-i8983-k240…

As for booking acco (the KF flight can be done directly on their site) there are quite a few reputed agents. E.g. Red Dot which has offices in UK and in Lanka, Jetwing, Hemtours/Diethelm, Walkers Tours. Or simply hotel booking sites like asiarooms.com and sri-lanka-hotelguide.com. The latter group publishes the rates so is always good to benchmark what Red Dot, Walkers Tours and the like would quote you.

All the best,

Hi there....

Yep all the companies that Erik has mentioned could book accomadation for your friends, but flights?, maybe check out flight specialists like Dial A Flight for instance, probably better deal than booking direct with Kingfisher, or indeed any airline right now.

When we searched last week, KF came up at £460 per person and Qatar were £780. Then direct with Sri Lankan airlines were £950...

Hi there...

Yes, quite probably those prices were higher than usual because of the time you are going, for example Easter and the Sri Lankan New Year, but before that time prices are quite a little different, should also fall again after that peak time.

Dave

We are flying out with KF on the 31st Jan. Flights cost £396 each...

Will let you know what they were like when I return on the 16th Feb.

We%26#39;re flying KF in Aug 09 and are a little aprehensive, can anyone re asure us that KF are an airline you can feel at ease with....

Hi there...

There will no problem with Kingfisher, they have a great reputation in the airline industry, and now one of the UK%26#39;s biggest operators to Sri Lanka has started to offer thier flights too (Mercury Direct) , so rest assured that you will have no problems.

Mercury using KingFisher? that%26#39;s interesting to know.

I there

I have just booked a holiday this afternoon going to The Blue Water in Waddawa with Mercury Direct. We have visited Lanka 5/6 times but have always flown either with Sri Lankan Airways and last year with Qatar but this time the flight prices were very steep so have booked the flights with Kingfisher so would really like to be told what they are like. They seem to give a good luggage allowance and the stop over isn%26#39;t too bad, about the same flying time as Sri Lankan and we are going for 2 weeks All inclusive for £1,666 which is brilliant, if you want to go earlier I think it will work out even cheaper.I cannot understand how they do it as Hayes and Jarvis and Kuoni are all very expensive?

I am a frequent flyer with Emirates and I see that they are a partner airline, can anyone tell me how I get my miles put on my Emirates card or would it be easier to join as a frequent flyer with Kingfisher ?

Hope someone can help, I am not panicking as not going until September but it would be good to know.

Cheers
