Flying via Bangalore is Indian Visa needed

We are off to beruwela in July. We are flying with Kingfisher airlines, we have to fly to Bangalore in India, wait three hours and then fly on to Columbo. Mercury Direct have told me that I do not need an Indian Visa, Does anyone know if this is correct ?

Mercury Direct are correct. You do not need a visa for India, as you do not leave the transit area of the airport.

The kingfisher ladies hand out a Landing Card but don%26#39;t bother filling it in as you don%26#39;t need to.

Take some Dollars with you as you%26#39;ll have 1.5 hours to kill in the airport and they didn%26#39;t accept £s.

Many thanks for yours repplies. Nice to know that Kingfisher airlines are good,not looking forward to the three and a half hour wait in Bangalore though. Do you have to pay for your drinks on the plane ?

There is a restaurant at Bangalore airport you can use, I think it%26#39;s called the Sportsbar.

You can also shop for some duty free things. there are some things to keep you amused, but 3.5 hours is a fair wait!!

We only had 1.5 hrs to wait and that was ok. Kingfisher ceratinly impressed me. Search for ';kingfisher review'; on the forum and you%26#39;ll find my review...
