Local tour operators

Any recommendations for local tour operators to use for day trips, overnighters and 3/4 day extended tour? Or just best/safer/easier to stick with First Choice%26#39;s hard sell?

If you will be staying in Negombo free lancers will hang around outside the hotels. Gives you a chance to inspect the driver and the vehicle. There are also a couple of local tour operators that have a small office.

IMO ';best/safer/easier to stick with First Choice'; is a truth with modifications. FC sub contract the tours to local drivers. Going with FC only means you will pay more (25-50%) and have a less flexible itinerary.

Hi Swigle.

Every hotel in Negombo has a ';Tourist Hotels Taxi Association'; and in that there are ';Tourist Facilitators'; You can arreange any tour with them with out any problem.

These Drivers do tours for less price than First Choice Prices.

Thanks to everyon who replied and PM%26#39;d.

Having taken into account the info detailed in tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g293961-c89412/Sri-… , and been in a short local trip in a very old bus with no AC and lots of rust, ended up taking the easy way out and going with FC%26#39;s offering.
