Hi, can anyone recommend a resort where I can swim in the sea during the months of July and August in Sri Lanka.

Hi,

Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna as they are protected by a coral reef.

East coast is also possible (Arugam Bay), but not yet safe for travel.

Bathing (still able to touch the bottom) is possible everywhere with due caution due to rough sea and strong currents.

Not really any hotels that qualifies in either Hikkaduwa or Unawatuna. Only 2-3* hotels in the places.

In Hikkaduwa Amaya Reef and Coral Gardens are both 3*.

Unawatuna Beach Resort is 3*.

Asian Jewel (boutique hotel) is 2 km inland from Hikkaduwa Beach
