Hi there,

Should be no problem, I%26#39;m meeting loads of SF travellers - with car/driver and with backpack and public transport. Just take the same precautions you%26#39;d take at home, e.g. avoiding dark back-alleys.

In 3 days you could see Negombo/Colombo, Kandy and Pinawela. Maybe 20-30% of what Lanka has to offer but it%26#39;s a start. For this short time best to have a car/driver bringing you to the places; public transport on this route works well but simply requires upto 50-100% more travel time so more days stay.

All the best,

Hi

If you are coming to Negombo, there are many things which you can do. If you need any driver, you can find them easily in Negombo. But if you are doing the tour alone, avoid taking young drivers/guiders.

Good advice about drivers. But would make it a bit stronger: do NOT hire a %26#39;driver from the street%26#39; as a SF traveller. Always use a reputable agent, like hotel tours desk or the big ones like Jetwing and Walkers. They take care of the quality and behaviour of the driver, and they know that upon any complaint of the tourist they can loose their job. Quite an important incentive to behave well...

All the best,
